Charity Work: Our Pledge to Help the Community

As a leading manufacturer and installer in Australia, we recognise that we have the opportunity to do a lot of good for communities that need support. We are in a position to help, so we make the most of that. Each month, we donate $150 per order to worthy charities in our area. We support a range of charities, making sure that our donations are going where they are needed most. 

We wanted to give you an overview of a handful of the charities we have worked with and the good that they are doing locally. Take a look at their initiatives to learn more about why we have chosen to lend our support. 

Backpacks 4 VIC Kids

Established in Victoria in 2014, Backpacks 4 VIC Kids has been providing crisis packs and gift packs to vulnerable infants, children, and young people. When families are going through hardship, it can become incredibly difficult to provide any more than the bare minimum. B4VK’s mission began as a drive to provide basic essentials to children, but it soon expanded to bring comfort, ease anxiety, and restore dignity to children facing painful circumstances. This could be homelessness, moving through the foster system, living in emergency accommodation, recovering from being the victim of a crime, and more. As of 30th June 2022, there were 61,000 children in out of home care (OOHC), and so many of them needed more support than was immediately available to many of them. 

When children are relocated in an emergency, they often get removed with little more than the clothes they are wearing. This is already a stressful and overwhelming experience for young people, and they deserve necessities and treats to make the transition more comfortable. Since 2014, they have delivered 47,842 crisis packs to vulnerable youths across VIC, NSW, TAS, WA, and QLD. This includes Youth Outreach packs, C4KiC Santa packs, School Essentials packs, My Essentials packs, and Disaster Relief packs. Children deserve stability in times of crisis, and B4VK provides the supplies necessary to find some peace in their situation. 

Backpack Bed for Homeless

As the name of the charity suggests, Backpack Bed for Homeless provides lightweight and sturdy beds for homeless individuals that fold discreetly into a backpack. Their bed is the most awarded single-person ultra-lightweight crisis bed in the world. These beds offer increased dignity, taking away the social discomfort of carrying around a portable shelter in the open. Backpack Bed is partnered with 1000+ Homeless Agencies across Australia, making sure that the crisis beds get to the people who need them most. The backpacks for the beds are also fully functional for storage with 5 built-in pockets capable of storing 20kg (44lb). The straps are ergonomically designed to ensure comfort when worn, and there is a secret pocket with a brass lock to protect important belongings. The beds are flame retardant, water- and wind-proof, offer full-body protection, and contain a full-body mosquito net to protect you from bites on hot summer nights. 

Each backpack bed costs $115, including shipping, tracking, and insurance to make sure that no product goes missing and wastes donated funds. Working with Backpack Beds, the donation we offer per order is enough to cover a bed with funds left over. Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia

Prostate cancer poses a significant risk to men all across Australia and the rest of the world and is the 2nd leading cause of cancer deaths in Australia. Many people will have a loved one, a friend, a colleague, or someone else in their life who has suffered the effects of prostate cancer, which is where the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia comes in. They prioritise research, awareness, and support, working to gather more information to help beat prostate cancer for good. Their vision is a future where no more men die of prostate cancer and the patients and families get the care and support they need. 

All donations to the PCFA go towards their extensive research in their aim to become Australia’s leading charity fund for Australian-based prostate cancer research. Contributions from our company and other donors make it possible for the PCFA to continue the amazing work they’re doing to tackle this devastating illness. We are proud to have offered our support to a cause that could positively impact tens of thousands of men each year across Australia.
